Ramy Salemdeeb, the founder of Zero Waste MENA, was announced the winner of the James Sumner Award 2016. A professional award that recognises the achievements of professionals and academics, the James Sumner Award covers all aspects of the waste and resource management industry. The formal presentation of the award took place during the Resourcing the Future Conference in London on the 14th June 2016.
“Zero Waste MENA” is a regional initiative whose primary goal is to facilitate and enable the elimination of waste in the Middle East & North Africa Region (MENA).
The award, which consists of a bursary of up to £1,000, will support Mr Salemdeeb to attend the International Solid Waste Association World Congress in Serbia from the 19th to the 21st September 2016.
